Before the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29), the Local Youth Conference (LCOY) came together to contribute to shaping intergovernmental climate change policies and officially convey the voices of youth to UNFCCC processes. The opening speech of the conference was delivered by Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Hasan Suver. Deputy Minister Suver emphasized that climate change is not a future problem but a present reality, and the heaviest burden of these impacts will fall on youth and future generations.
